down the street or down the road ? it's ok

i work for the largest tire/rubber company in the world. my company's presence in akron, ohio goes back a very long time. the buiding that i work in was once used for  manufacturing, but was converted  to office space long ago. for sometime now the employees of bridgestone/firestone in akron ohio have been working and living with the knowledge that the company was going to move their jobs. would it be down the street or down the road ?  tuesday night in front of the statue of harvey firestone our company ceo made the announcement that we were going to stay in akron and build a new "world class technical center". the crowd cheered as a collective sigh of relief was felt by those gathered there. karen and i had long since resigned ourselves that whatever happened it was in God's hands and we would be ok wherever the company decided to go. just think .... our futures are not our own so we don't have to be concerned ...
