breathing a little easier ..... it's no big deal

one again i find myself in the southern part of the country on business. i arrived in wilson, nc this past monday evening (labor day evening) around 11:30 pm. a few yrs. ago i was diagnosed with sleep apnea. sleep apnea is defined as a condition characterized by episodes of stopped breathing during sleep. after my diagnosis, i was given this breathing machine. even though i knew that i needed to use this machine when i slept, i've had a mental block when it came to wearing this sleep mask. a good nights sleep is important to all of us for many reasons. even though i've known how important it is to use this machine, i've not done it. recently my cousin ask if i was using my machine, sadly i had to admit that i'd not. i'm not sure what's changed, but i'm glad it has. i'm now using my machine on a regular basis. i had some concern about traveling (flying) with my breathing machine. perhaps i was embarrassed by my condition and it would be exposed as i went through security at the different airports.  the only thing that happened at the airport is that i've learned that it's no big deal.

in sharing, you connect with others and remind yourself that we all struggle with self. our battles may be different, but all boil down to common dominators (the play on words is purposeful).
