birthday
birthdays ... yesterday marked the passing of another year for me. it seems like only yesterday that i was in middle school, struggling with teen issues and at odds with my parents over just about everything. why i was such a rebellious young person still puzzles me, although perhaps it really shouldn't. teenagers have been at odds with there parents all over the world and for as long as time itself ... i guess i was fairly normal in that regard. as i entered my high school years my associations with classmates who were also in conflict with their parents (perhaps to a greater degree) started to have a more evident influence on me. i was introduced to the juvenile court system in the latter teen years, much to my parents shame. i lived thru those days and struggles because i had a family and faith to lean on. you will too ...

wow, thanks for sharing that with me sunday morning. your last sentence is the perfect punctuation on some very personal and very powerful thoughts. i hope you someday are able to share that with spencer and connor and be the influence you have started to be, and i hope continue to grow to be, in their lives. ... mark
